Hi there! I’m Hugo, I’ve been working in the fields of visual arts for over twenty years. I was born in 1978 in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. When I was 20 years old I moved to Costa Rica to study Economics but I ended up studying Arts and Visual Communication. Then I worked as a freelance artist in the fields of painting, illustration, videoart and documentary film.
Since 2005 I live and work in Solothurn where I devote myself to the art of animation and teaching Visual Arts. In 2009 I finished my Bachelor in Media Art at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern (FHNW). And in 2011 I received a Master’s degree in Design and Animation at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU).
I’m passionate about Art, visual communication, Animation, Programming, history, anthropology, political economy, Philosophy (Metaphysics) and Physics. Through my work, I seek to reflect on topics that spark my curiosity and passion. Either with a didactic or an artistic approach, I want to share insights, inform, open discussions or just think with images.
